How I made my clutch!

I got some really inexpensive yellow material at my local thrift store.  It's a medium weight fabric.
I cut out 2 rectangles from the medium weight yellow material, and from some yellow broadcloth I cut out the same sized rectangles.

I cut out a rectangle of quilting material for the bow.  Make it slightly wider than the rectangle you cut for the main bag.

Pressed back the edges and stitched across them for a nice finish

I cut out a smaller piece of the same fabric for the centre of the bow.
I pressed the edges in but didn't stitch quite yet.

I pinned the bow to one of the medium weight rectangles, and wrapped the centre bow piece around.

I sewed the edges, and the centre bow piece.  Then I trimmed the sides with pinking shears.

I cut a much longer zipper down to the length I needed, and then sewed  several times across where I wanted the zipper to stop.  If you have a perfectly sized zipper, just skip this step, because on zippers there is that little metal piece to stop the zipper.

Layer one of the the medium weight rectangles right side up, the zipper on top of it good size down, and the lining good side down.  Sew along the zipper, Do the same on the other side with the other pieces.

Once sewn, it will look like this.

Make sure the zipper is open.
Cut a strip of the medium weight fabric
Press each side in towards the centre, and then press in half and stitch along the edge.

With the two medium weight rectangles right sides together on one side of the zipper, and the two lining  pieces right sides together, pin in place.  As you are pinning the two medium weight sides together, position your handle loop where you would like it, with the loop inside sandwiched in between the rectangles.
It is sandwiched between.
When it is turned right side out, it will be a loop on the correct side, for the handle.

Sew around the whole outside except for about 2-3 inches so that you can flip it right side out. (That's why it's important you have the zipper open).

Ta Da!

I have not given specific measurements, because this can be done in any size.  Also, I just measured as I went along.  As long as you start off with the bow a little wider than you main fabric, it shouldn't be a problem!

Have fun :)
